Today, in Bijeljina, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, visited sports games of employees of internal affairs, organized by the Union of Internal Affairs in cooperation with Bijeljina Police Administration.

More than 80 members of the Ministry of the Interior from five police administrations (Bijeljina, Zvornik, Foča, Istočno Sarajevo and Trebinje) participated in the games. The competition was held in three disciplines: indoor football, volleyball and shooting.

According to the President of the Union of employees of internal affairs of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Nebojša Prodanović, that was the first gathering of this type with the goal of turning it into a tradition. “We initiated these games, and our intention is to organize such gatherings every year in other police administrations”, said Prodanović.

Head of the Bijeljina PA, Mr Jovica Vasilić, noted that events like this, apart from the competitive spirit, were an opportunity for police officers to showcase the virtues of their profession, such as: discipline, courage and loyalty to the citizens and the service.

At the end of the competition, Minister Budimir competed with his colleagues in the shooting discipline, demonstrating sportsmanship and support for these forms of events and strengthening mutual cooperation among members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior.

Notable results were achieved in the sports games, and the participants demonstrated a high level of sportsmanship and teamwork.

In individual competition of the shooting discipline, Vladan Vasilić from Zvornik PA placed first, Danijel Lalić from the Special Police Unit placed second, while Dragan Pejić from Trebinje PA placed third. In team competition in shooting, the Special Police Unit placed first, Zvornik PA placed second, and team from Trebinje PA won the third place. 

In the indoor football competition, the award for the best goalkeeper went to Kristijan Krunić from Istočno Sarajevo PA, while the best goal scorer was Bojan Skočo from Zvornik PA. In this discipline, Istočno Sarajevo PA team placed first and Zvornik PA team placed second.

In volleyball, Bijeljina PA placed first, Zvornik PA placed second, while Trebinje PA placed third.

At the end of the event, trophies and diplomas were awarded to the best participants in the competition, which officially concluded the sports competition and once again confirmed the importance of such events in strengthening mutual cooperation and collegiality.
