Today, in Foča, the 31st anniversary since the formation of the 9th Detachment of the Special Police Brigade of the Republic of Srpska was marked.

At the Memorial to the fallen police officers, in front of the Foča Police Administration facility, a memorial service was held, and then the wreaths were laid and the candles lit.

Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, emphasized that the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit inherited the legacy of the Special Police Brigade. He added that the Brigade, along with the Military of the Republic of Srpska, was a part of the armed forces in the Patriotic-Defense War, and the memory of people who lost their life for the Republic of Srpska, needed to be kept.

He remarked that the Foča Detachment of the Special Police Brigade was one of the strongest.

“We remember that these people fought for the Republic of Srpska during the war, and that it is our duty to remember them, and support the families of the fallen and disabled war veterans”, said Minister Budimir.
