The Republic of Srpska

As a part of the ceremony of taking the oath, 138 cadets who successfully finished the Police Academy were promoted, thus becoming a part of police forces. In addition to the Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, the event was also attended by the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, heads of organizational units within the Ministry, as well as numerous relatives and friends of the cadets.

At the ceremony, held at the Training Centre, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, congratulated the cadets for successful completion of their education. He wished them to make their parents and the Republic of Srpska proud of them, because it was their task to guard the homeland for which heroes gave their lives in the most difficult times of its creation. 

‘We are going to enroll the following class of cadets in July and, based on our previous results,  we can already say that the police system is going to be enriched with people who are patriots and experts in the fields of their future job position. My message to everybody is to continue their education and professional improvement, because that is what Srpska needs’, Minister Budimir said, and expressed his pleasure with the results of the activities of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior regarding the education of the new police staff. 

Head of Administration for Police Education, Mr Mile Šikman, reminded that, after completing their 10-month training, cadets were enabled to work independently as police officers. 

‘After taking the oath, the cadets are going to start their internship that is going to last for six months. When they complete their internship, they are going to take a professional exam. Passing this exam represents a condition for them to be employed as police officers’, Mr Šikman said.
