Today, in Pale, the new facility of the Istočno Sarajevo Police Administration was officially opened with the ceremonial ribbon cutting and a consecration service. 

 ‘’The new facility of the Istočno Sarajevo Police Administration in Pale represents one of the most modern facilities within the Ministry of the Interior’’ the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, said. 

 ‘’This facility speaks volumes beyond the words. Its significance is evidenced by 5,123 square meters of new working conditions and investments by the Republic of Srpska worth 11.5 million BAM’’, Minister Budimir said. 
 

He noted that the Police Station Pale, the Traffic Safety Police Station, the Gendarmerie Unit Pale, and the location for issuing personal documents would also use the new facility.

"This shows that the Republic of Srpska is capable of building such a functional facility on its own, with its own resources and construction companies," Minister Budimir emphasised.

The Head of the Istočno Sarajevo Police Administration, Mr Branimir Šehovac, stated that the new building of the Administration in Pale was a symbol of safety and stability for all citizens, assessing that this was a historic day for the police in the Sarajevo-Romanija region.

He pointed out that the security situation in the area covered by the Istočno Sarajevo Police Administration was already stable and satisfactory, but that the police would undertake all necessary activities to raise it to an even higher level.

The Mayor of Istočno Sarajevo, Mr Ljubiša Ćosić, said that the opening of the new Istočno Sarajevo Police Administration building represented another confirmation of the commitment of the Republic of Srpska institutions to strengthen their capacities and continue the development of this part of Srpska.

 

He recalled that the foundation stone for the construction of the facility was laid in March 2023, and that the municipal administration made a significant contribution to the implementation of the project by providing the land, project documentation, and necessary permits.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Savo Minić, said that the Government of the Republic of Srpska was committed to ensuring that the Ministry of the Interior had the best possible working conditions, emphasising that the new building of the Istočno Sarajevo Police Administration stood as a clear testament of that commitment.

 

"The Republic of Srpska Police is a guarantor not only of the safety of property and individuals, but also of the overall security in this region," he emphasised.

 

The President, Mr Milorad Dodik, said that Republic of Srpska Police had received the status and significance it deserves. He added that it was no coincidence that the people of the Republic of Srpska extended their highest level of support to the Serbian Orthodox Church and the police.

He congratulated all members of the Istočno Sarajevo Police Administration and the Republic of Srpska Police on the opening of the Police Administration building in Pale, emphasising that the police was an organization dedicated to our safety and the preservation of public order and peace.

The Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, heads of administrations within the Ministry of the Interior, mayors of the municipalities within the city, and members of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska also attended the opening ceremony of the new facility.
