MINISTER BUDIMIR WITH THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION OF THE RETIRED POLICE OFFICERS

Today, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, held a meeting with the representatives of the Association of the Retired Police Officers of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior. The Proposal of the Law on the Amendment to the Law on the Police and Internal Affairs submitted to the Republic of Srpska National Assembly was discussed at the meeting. According to the Proposal, all retired police officers have the right to have their monthly pensions calculated retroactively, in accordance with the Law from 2019, according to which one’s personal monthly pension is defined based on the five years when one had the most favourable salary. 

Minister Budimir pointed out that, in cooperation with the Republic of Srpska Government, the Ministry of the Interior would continue supporting the initiatives that contribute to the improvement of rights and the life standard of the retired police officers, minding the sustainability of the system and interests of all the employees and retired members of the Ministry. 

Another point that was emphasized at the meeting was that the retired members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior presented an important part of the security system, and that their contribution to maintaining peace, security and institutions of the Republic of Srpska deserved special respect and responsible treatment by the institutions.
