The Republic of Srpska

Today, at the Training Centre in Banja Luka, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior organised  a ceremony at which contracts were signed for 359 cadets of the 29th Class of the Police Academy, 21 of whom are being trained for the needs of the Brčko District Police. 

The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, emphasised the importance of training police officers, as well as equipping and modernisation of the Police in order to successfully cope with challenges they face on daily basis.

Minister Budimir said that investments would be continued, and expressed his gratitude to the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Nenad Stevandić, and the Prime Minister, Mr Savo Minić, for their understanding and support in the work of the Ministry. 

’’We will continue to equip ourselves, and thanks to the understanding of the Government and the Prime Minister Minić, we currently have 21 million of investments in the infrastructure, and we continue to renovate and reconstruct police stations throughout the Republic of Srpska’’, Minister Budimir said. 

He said that the training process for police officers was continuous, and expressed his satisfaction that 359 cadets of the 29th Class of the Police Academy had signed contracts to begin their training. 
 

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Nenad Stevandić, pointed out the the Republic of Srpska was better, wealthier, more equipped, and more organised every day, which was also confirmed by  the new class of cadets of the Police Academy who had signed contracts today. 

’’I am pleased that we have achieved that kind of internal human, national, and state-building consensus, which means that everyone is safe, regardless of where they work or live, because the police are fast and well-equipped’’, Mr Stevandić said.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Savo Minić, said that today a major step forward was made in equipping, modernisation, and mobility of the Ministry of the Interior. 
 

’’We are capable of maintaining peace and stability in the Republic of Srpska, and we guarantee peace and security for the lives and property of all citizens, regardless of their nationality. We also guarantee for the institutions of the Republic of Srpska and the law enforcement’’ the Prime Minister Minić said. 

According to him, that was yet another in a series of days when the Republic of Srpska and the Ministry of the Interior were becoming stronger and more successful.

He emphasised that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior and the Police were guarantors of peace. 

The Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, also attended the contract signing. 

This year, a record interest in admission to the Police Academy was recorded, as there were 1,300 applications from young people from all parts of the Republic of Srpska.
