The security of citizens knows no borders. For the same reason, police cooperation must know no borders either.

Modern forms of crime, from organized crime, human trafficking and migrant smuggling to terrorism, drug trafficking and cybercrime, require the rapid exchange of information, strong coordination and joint action.

The Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska continuously strengthens cooperation with police services in the region, INTERPOL, Europol and other international partners.

International operations “Prolom 2”, “Cumberland”, “Mozaik 2025”, “AI4KIDS” are just some of the operations we organized last year, along with training sessions and courses that, through the exchange of experience and knowledge, have helped us become even better.

International police cooperation means concrete results:

• protecting citizens and victims;

• locating perpetrators and fugitives;

• detecting and dismantling criminal networks;

• preventing criminal offences that cross borders.

This year’s message for the International Day of Police Cooperation – “Protecting against vulnerabilities – building trust and legitimacy in policing” – reminds us that citizens’ trust is the foundation of a safe society, because shared security challenges require a joint response.
