The Republic of Srpska

The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Željko Budimir, and the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, visited today Bijeljina Police Administration, where they met with the management of Bijeljina PA and Zvornik PA and discussed the security situation on the territory covered by these administrations, as well as current police activities. 

During the meeting, special focus was on the activities of the Ministry and police administration during the pre-election and election period, with the aim of maintaining the stable security situation, protection of citizens and their property, and creating conditions for implementation of the election process without obstructions.

Several issues were also discussed, such as the organization of police work, operational activities, prevention in general and prevention all forms of crime, as well as further improvement of security on the territory of Bijeljina, Zvornik and nearby municipalities. The significance of continuous investing in material-technical equipping of the police was pointed out during the meeting. Therefore, new equipment and vehicles that had been previously procured were mentioned, and the aim of improving the work conditions of the police officers and strengthening the capacities of the police for efficient implementation of the activities in the competence of the police. 

Minister Budimir and Director Kostrešević visited the bishop of Zvornik-Tuzla region, His Eminence Fotije. Together, they discussed the issues significant for maintaining peace, stability and security, as well as the cooperation of institutions with the Serbian Orthodox Church.
