SIX PERSONS ARRESTED IN THE INTERNATIONAL ACTION ‘NORTH’

Police officers of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, Crime Police Administration, monitored and controlled by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, performed the action which was being prepared for several months against an organized criminal group which organized and performed the transport of weapons and ammunition to the Federal Republic of Germany from the territory of the Republic of Srpska. The action was performed in cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office and the Police of the Republic of Germany.
In this action, six persons were arrested; three of them were arrested on the territory of the Republic of Srpska and three of them were arrested on the territory of the city of Aachen, the Federal Republic of Germany. These persons are suspected of committing the criminal offence ‘Organized crime’ from Article 250 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is related to the criminal offence of ‘Illegal trafficking of weapons, military equipment and products for military use’ from Article 193 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Yesterday, five searches were performed on the territory of the cities of Banja Luka, Višegrad and Bijeljina, and today, persons whose initials are an R.M. born in 1975, from Bijeljina, an O.P. born in 1973, from Višegrad and a B.Đ. born in 1960, from Višegrad, will be sent to the hearing on the premises of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Three citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina were arrested on the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany: a D.Ć. born in 1973, from Banja Luka, an O.T. born in 1983, from Banja Luka, and an I.B. born in 1971, from Tuzla. In this action, the following items were seized: 26 hand grenades (various types), 4 rifles (type M-70), 500g of explosive, 1 mine, several pieces of ammunition of different caliber, several ammunition tanks, and smaller amounts of cocaine on various locations.
The arrested person, a D.Ć. is a police officer working at Banja Luka Public Security Center and they will be removed from duty at the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior in accordance with the Law on police officers.
On this occasion, it is important to emphasize good cooperation of the Republic of Srpska Police and the Federal Republic of Germany Police.
