8 KG OF MARIJUANA AND ABOUT 320 KG OF TOBACCO SEIZED IN THE OPERATIONAL ACTION 'SVILAJ'

On 1 October 2015, police officers of Doboj Public Security Center arrested nine persons. Seven persons (an M.S. and an N.S. from the town of Šamac, an R.Z., a D.V. and an M.D. from the town of Brod, an M.S. from the municipality of Pelagićevo, and an H.B. from the town of Orašje, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina) were arrested based on suspicion that they have committed the criminal offense of ‘Unauthorized production and sale of narcotic drugs’, and two persons (a G.P. from the town of Brod and a B.Z. from the town of Šamac) based on suspicion that they have committed the criminal offense of ‘Unauthorized trade’.
For the aforementioned persons, there are grounds for suspicion that they, as an organized group in cooperation with their accomplices, acquired and sold narcotic drug on the territories of the municipalities of Šamac, Brod and Orašje (FBiH).
Based on the previously collected information that certain persons were involved in processing and selling narcotic drugs and the obtained order of the District Court in Doboj, searches were performed on 13 locations: 11 on the locations on the territories of the municipalities of Pelagićevo, Šamac and Brod, and 2 on the territories of the municipality of Orašje, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the action, 8 kg of green plant matter which, according to its morphological characteristics, corresponds to the characteristics of marijuana narcotic drug, were found and seized, as well as 17 stalks of Indian cannabis in the late stage of development (about 200 cm tall), 72 ml of cannabis oil, 17 medical pills of ‘Subohope’, a drug that belongs to the group of opiates, scale for precise measuring on which there were traces of white powdery substance which reminds of amphetamine ‘speed’, auto rifle with a frame, mobile phones and SIM cards.
In the search of two locations on the territory of the town of Brod, 320 kg of tobacco (both cut tobacco and leaves of tobacco) intended for sale, as well as a machine for cutting tobacco.
On 2 October 2015, after criminal investigation was conducted, persons and the report on the committed criminal offenses were handed to the jurisdiction of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Doboj.
The aforementioned activities were performed as a part of the operational action whose code name is ‘Svilaj’. It was performed in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose police officers performed the search and arrested one person on the territory of the municipality of Orašje, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
