CEREMONY OF PUBLIC OPENING OF THE MONUMENT TO THE FALLEN MEMBERS OF THE 4TH SQUAD OF THE SPECIAL POLICE UNIT

Today, in front of the Public Security Centre Bijeljina, Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Dragan Lukač, together with the commanders and former membersof the 4th Squad of the Special Police Unit, performed the ceremony of public opening of the Monument to the fallen members of the Squad. During the ceremony, the consecration of the Monument was performed as well as mass to memory of the fallen member of the Squad.
On this occasion, Minister Lukač emphasized that Bijeljina and the Republic of Srpska could be proud of the members of the Fourth Squad of the Special Police Unit and that this way homage to them was paid.
There are more than 30 names of the fallen members of the Unit on the Monument, 15 of which were members of the Fourth Squad of Special Police Units, as well as names of members of the command of the unit from the Central Squad Zvornik which was joined to the Fourth Squad.
Many members of the Public Security Centre Bijeljina as well as members of other police units from the whole territory of the Republic of Srpska attended the raising of the Monument to the fallen members of Special Unit, on which there is the inscription “Heroes do not die – they give their lives bravely in order to live eternally”.
