CIGARETTES WITH AND WITHOUT EXCISE STAMPS OF THE REPUBLIC OF MONTENEGRO AND THE REPUBLIC OF CROATIA SEIZED IN THE OPERATIONAL ACTION ‘TABACCO’

On 4 and 5 November 2015, during the performance of an operational action under the code name of “TABACCO”, based on the information they previously collected, and by the order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, police officers from the Police Station Novi Grad performed searches of independent retailer shops on several locations on the territory of the municipality of Novi Grad.
During a search performance of an independent retailer shopin Gavrila Prinicipa Street, in the municipality of Novi Grad, the police officers found and seized 7 PVC packages of fine-cut tobacco weighing 3.5 kg in total, 44 boxes of “Black Mounte” brand cigarettes without excise stamps, 5 boxes of “Ronhill” cigarettes with excise stamps of the Republic of Croatia, and 8 boxes of “Eva Slims” cigarettes without excise stamps.
The owner of the aforementioned independent retailer shop, a person whose initials are M.S., born in 1964, from the municipality of Novi Grad, was arrested based on suspicion that they committed a criminal offence “Unauthorised sale of products with excise stamps“. There was an investigation performed on the perpetrator and the found cigarettes, which are going to be used as evidence in the further criminal proceedings, were seized.
The prosecutor on duty of Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina ordered that, after the completion of the case, as a part of regular procedure, a report for the criminal offence would be submitted against an M.S. and that the suspect would be released upon finishing the criminal investigation.
The police officers from Public Security Centre Prijedor are going to continue the performance of the operational action whose code name is “TABACCO”.
