On 17 November in the afternoon, a member of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, the police officer M. Grahovac from Banjaluka, by timely reaction, rescued a person Dž. Opardija from Velika Kladuša, who had a traffic accident on the motor road M-16, on Kupres-Šuica road section, in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The police officer, who normally performs tasks in the jurisdiction of the Protection Unit, Administration for Protection of Persons and Facilities, was not on duty when the traffic accident happened. Namely, he was a random passer-by when a vehicle went off the road and on that occasion, the driver, Dž. Opardija, suffered serious injuries. The police officer Grahovac administered first aid to the injured person on the spot, and then informed the Emergency service and the competent police station about the traffic accident that had happened. Thanks to the adequate reaction of the police officer, the person was timely taken care of at the Clinical Centre in the City of Split, Croatia.
The importance of the humane act done by the police officer Grahovac is even greater due to the fact that traffic frequency on this part of the road is low and visibility on the road is lowered in the afternoon, so the injured person was in considerable danger of not being found for a longer period.
Every day, in their daily activities, members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior show the humane side of the police work in various situation. We decided to publish this praise, which is just one of numerous praises that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior regularly receives.
