MEETING REGARDING THE SECURITY SITUATION IN THE CITY OF BANJA LUKA

On 1 December 2015, Head of Public Security Center in Banja Luka, Mr. Boško Pandža, together with Deputy Head, Mr. Miroslav Delić, Head of Crime Police Sector, Mr. Darko Novković and Head of the Police Sector, Mr. Nebojša Mitraković, attended a meeting which was held in the City Administration, at the initiative of the Mayor of the City of Banja Luka, Mr. Slobodan Gavranović.

The meeting was held because of the latest events and the increasing threat of terroristic attacks in Europe and events in our region, especially considering the up-coming holidays and gathering of a large number of people, as well as the arrival of citizens from abroad. The topic of the meeting was the security situation in the City area, with the aim of exchanging information, strengthening preventive security measures and raising awareness about the necessity of undertaking activities constantly.

Head of the Center, Mr. Pandža, pointed out that the committed criminal offences, which had happened in the last few months, made the security situation more complicated, considering all the circumstances and the way the criminal offences were committed, but he also stressed that these criminal offences did not influence greatly on the overall security situation on the territory of the Center.

In addition to intensive activities on solving these and other criminal offences, the increased measures and actions for the protection of personal and property safety of citizens are also in progress on the territory of the Center. A meeting was held between managerial staff of police organizations and the representatives of schools and other institutions where a larger number of people gathers on the territory of the City of Banja Luka. On that meeting, it was stressed that the aspect of security has to be constantly present and that the level of self-protection should be increased.

At the meeting, it was also pointed out that police officers are constantly undertaking measures and actions in order to protect citizens and their property and that the security level was raised.
