On 3 December 2015, the commander of the Police station for traffic safety of the City of Banja Luka, Mr Dragan Milošević, visited the exhibition of photographs called “Don’t Stand on My Way”. The exhibition was organised by Association of youth with disabilities “Infopart” and held at Musical pavilion, in the Petar Kočić Park.

The occasion for organising this exhibition was the International Day of Persons with Disabilities while the aim was to raise the awareness about improvement of conditions for safe traffic participation of persons with disabilities as well as about difficulties these people encounter.

Mr Milošević explained to the people who were present that the police officers through their preventive and repressive activities contribute to solving problems that people with disabilities encounter. He added that, in compliance with the law, police had been removing vehicles from parking spots reserved for people with disabilities, as well as vehicles that are not properly parked and blocking movement on the pavement and other pedestrian areas.

Moreover, Mr Milošević said that during the previous 11 months, on the territory of the City of Banja Luka, there were 2,145 cases of parking violation, and in 1,604 of them, the vehicles were removed in cooperation with the towing service of the Department for parking and garages of the City of Banja Luka.

˝In the following period, as a part of their regular activities, police officers are going to devote their time to preventing and countering this kind of minor offence in order to improve movement conditions of citizens with disabilities˝, Mr Milošević emphasised.
