MINISTER LUKAČ MET WITH THE MINISTER OF SECURITY OF BIH

The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Dragan Lukač, met today, in Banja Luka, with the Minister of Security at the Council of Ministers, Mr Selmo Cikotić. Two main topics of the meeting were the migrant crisis in BIH and the Agreement with Europol.

After the meeting, Minister Lukač said that there was common interest regarding both migrant crisis and cooperation with Europol.

Minister Lukač pointed out that the attitude of the Republic of Srpska related to migrant crisis was clear, and that there would be no camps for migrants on the territory of the Republic of Srpska. He added that the members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior would continue securing their safe and unobstructed movement towards the locations where they wish to go.

Another point Minister Lukač made was that the police officers of the Republic of Srpska would continue providing support to the Border police of BIH in securing the eastern border.

Related to the Agreement with Europol, Minister Lukač said that nobody could change the essence of the Agreement and that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior requires the Agreement to be implemented as it was signed, with no amendments.

Minister of Security said that he was pleased with the results of the meeting in Banja Luka. Cikotić added that a high degree of compliance was achieved related to managing the movement of migrants in BIH.
