The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Dragan Lukač, visited today the City of Doboj and Teslić Municipality. He met with the mayor of the City of Doboj, Mr Boris Jerinić, head of Doboj Police Administration, Mr Slobodan Radinković, and the management of Teslić PS. They discussed future projects that would improve police work in these local communities and contribute to raising the safety level for citizens.
On this occasion, Minister Lukač announced that, in cooperation with the City administration in Doboj, the issue of premises for the Gendarmerie Unit and Doboj 2 PS would be permanently solved. The Republic of Srpska Ministry of Interior would prepare a project whose realisation would be financed by the City of Doboj. After building the aforementioned facilities, the ownership of the land would be transferred to the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior.
‘This way, we will improve not only our cooperation, but also the police work in the City of Doboj, with the aim of better security for all citizens’, Minister Lukač said, and after that, he thanked Mayor Jerinić for recognizing the needs of the police and citizens.
In addition, Minister Lukač announced the improvement of the existing video-surveillance in Doboj, for which the City of Doboj provided BAM 40,000, and said that it proved to be very efficient, since it recognized more than 9,000 minor offences based on non-registered vehicles so far. As a result, Minister Lukač urged the citizens to be more meticulous in this aspect.
Mayor Jerinić said that the facility for the Gendarmerie Unit of the Republic of Srpska would be built at a location in the southern part of the City, and the facility for Doboj 2 would be built at the location where there is a ruin near the place where the Station in question is located at the moment. He added that the first session of the local parliament could be held in December in order to solve the issue of transferring the ownership of the land; upon obtaining the project, which is planned for March the following year, the City would be able to initiate the project realisation.
After visiting Teslić PS, Minister Lukač expressed his hope that Teslić would also obtain the video surveillance system in future. He added that not establishing contact with the local authorities was the reason for not installing the system that would increase the safety level for both the citizens and their property.
Regarding the security situation on the territory of Teslić Municipality, Minister Lukač pointed out that, due to the vicinity of the inter-entity border, there was a higher rate of criminal offences ‘Theft’ and ‘Heavy theft’. The perpetrators of these criminal offences come from the Federation of BIH, but, thanks to the excellent police work, the rate of solved cases in this field was high and the groups that used to come to Teslić for these purposes were detected.
Head of Doboj Police Administration, Mr Slobodan Radinković, said that the results of police work were very good and expressed his satisfaction with the fact that, during this year, no criminal offences that would cause the citizens to feel anxious had been committed. Radinković also said that, during the meeting of the management of Teslić PS with Minister Lukač, the emphasis was on material and technical equipment used for police work.
