FOUR NEW SPECIALISED ‘’DESPOT’’ VEHICLES DELIVERED AT THE MoI TRAINING CENTRE

Today, at Zalužani Training Centre, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Dragan Lukač, and the General Director of ’’Tehnički Remont Bratunac’’, Mr Slaven Ristić, signed the Agreement on handing over four new ’’Despot’’ vehicles.
Minister Lukač pointed out that the "Despot" was an exceptional armoured vehicle with great performance, which serves to improve security in the Republic of Srpska and protect its citizens. He added that the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit now had nine "Despots" and that it expected the delivery of another one next year.
By praising the cooperation between the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior and ’’Tehnički Remont Bratunac’’ Company, the Minister reminded that the first ’’Despot’’ vehicle was developed by joint forces with the support of the Republic of Srpska Government in the amount of one million BAM.
’’We have signed a contract with ‘’Tehnički Remont Bratunac’’ Company on the delivery of new pistols, and we expect to obtain 1,500 pieces by the end of the year. I hope that we will continue to develop other projects important for the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior’’, Minister Lukač said today.
Director Ristić stated that the ‘’Despot’’ was a modern armoured vehicle that was manufactured in the Republic of Srpska.
‘’TRB Company will have more quality products. Furthermore, it is extremely important that the ‘’Despot’’ is being exported and that the interest in it is growing’’, Director Ristić said and expressed his confidence that the good cooperation with the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior would be continued.
The signing of the contract was also attended by the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević.
‘’Despot’’ is a modern armoured, multifunctional, off-road vehicle with four-wheel-drive intended for a wide range of operations of police and armed forces.
The vehicle is six meters long, almost three meters high, weighs about 14 tons, with armour resistant to projectiles up to 12 millimetres.
