MINISTERS LUKAČ AND VULIN SIGNED THE MEMORANDUM ON COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF AVIATION

Ministers of the Interior of the Republic of Srpska and the Republic of Serbia, Mr Dragan Lukač and Mr Aleksandar Vulin, signed today, in Belgrade, Serbia, the Memorandum of understanding between the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior and the Republic of Serbia Ministry of the Interior on cooperation in the field of aviation that would significantly improve the cooperation between the helicopter units.

The Ministers agreed that the Memorandum would further strengthen the cooperation between the two Ministries, reinforce aviation structures of both police forces and provide for the helicopter units of the Republic of Srpska and the Republic of Serbia to become faster and more efficient while performing their tasks.

Minister Lukač said that this Memorandum would enable the realisation of trainings for pilots and aviation technical staff, additionally build the capacities of the Helicopter unit of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior and contribute to higher security level of the citizens. He added that the cooperation between the two Ministries at all levels was excellent, especially regarding various trainings, exchange of operational information in countering organised and all other forms of crime.

In that context, the Ministers reminded that the joint operational actions of the two police forces resulted in arresting and bringing to justice one of the most wanted criminals in this region, Darko Elez.

Minister Vulin said that the Republic of Srpska remained a priority for the Republic of Serbia and that every threat to the security and peace of the Republic of Srpska represented a threat to the security and peace of the Republic of Serbia.

According to him, thanks to the President of the Republic of Serbia, Mr Aleksandar Vučić, Serbia had never before supported and protected the Republic of Srpska as it was the case nowadays.

‘It is our obligation to cooperate and make the everyday life of our citizens safer’, Minister Vulin said and pointed out that the Republic of Serbia Ministry of the Interior would always provide support and aid to the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior since every need of the Republic of Srpska was also a need of the Republic of Serbia.
