THE MEETING OF MINISTER LUKAČ WITH MINISTER CIKOTIĆ

The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior Dragan Lukač held talks on Tuesday, February 23 2021 in Sarajevo with BiH Minister of Security Selmo Cikotić about the security situation and the development of co-operation in the security sector.
A special focus was on realising the remaining commitments in order to establish full operational co-operation with Europol. It is expected that all obstacles to the final realisation of this obligation for BiH on the European path have been removed for the beginning of the exchange of operational information with this important Police Institution of the European Union.
Information about the migrant situation and the co-operation of police agencies in preventing illegal migrations were also discussed. It is emphasized that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior would continue to send police officers to assist the BiH Border Police in order to better control and monitor BiH's eastern border.
They also discussed the possibility of co-operation in the area of training and education of police officers in order to fill the personnel vacancies in police agencies as soon as possible.
The meeting stressed the importance of continuing co-operation and timely exchange of information between police agencies in the fight against all forms of organised crime and other security threats.
