SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED POLICE ACTION OF SOLVING HOSTAGE CRISIS

Police officers of the RS Ministry of the Interior successfully completed a tactical exercise in the area of the city of Derventa, in the region of Babino brdo, with solving the hostage crisis scenario organized by the Training Center of the Interior Ministry.
In addition to the police officers of the Doboj Police Administration, members of the Gendarmerie Unit, the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit, the Police Support Unit Administration and the Police Negotiating Team participated in the exercise. RS Minister of the Interior and Police Director Sinisa Kostreševic were also present at the exercise.
" One tactical demonstration exercise of cooperation between the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit and the Gendarmerie Unit was performed along with the activities of other Police Units. It is a situation in which terrorists have taken a large number of hostages. The Negotiating Team managed to pull out a certain number of hostages, but failed to finish it to the end. When the negotiations failed, there was a cooperation between the Special Anti- Terrorist Unit and the Gendarmerie Unit which carried out a quick action to release the hostages and destroy the terrorists. I congratulate all participants on the very successfully performed action", said Minister Lukač.
Minister Lukač clarified the goals that the Ministry of Interior wants to achieve with such exercises.
" We are doing this with the goal of practicing all unforeseen and difficult situations, terrorist acts, in order to improve all activities performed by Ministry of the Interior and the cooperation of all our units." We will certainly continue to do that because our goal is to raise security of our citizens to the highest possible level and respond to all challenges that may occur in the RS, such as the most difficult ones like the terrorist activities", concluded Minister Lukac.
