MINISTER LUKAČ RECEIVED 35 DIGITAL CARDS FOR DIGITAL TACHOGRAPH CONTROL

The Republic of Srpska Interior Minister Dragan Lukač met today in Banja Luka with the Republic of Srpska Transport and Communicatios Minister Nedeljko Ćorić, who presented Minister Lukač with 35 digital cards for control of digital tachographs.

Minister Lukač pointed that in this way, traffic safety would be enhanced.

"Digital cards will be obtained by police officers of the Republic of Srpska Interior Ministry. Thirty-five of them are already trained for an enforcement that will prevent any abuse. We will continue to work in co-operation with the Ministry of Transport and the Transport Security Agency on improving safety," Minister Lukač said, reminding that in the last few years, the number of people killed on Republic of Srpska roads has decreased. In 2015 it was 151, and in the previous year 101.

Minister Ćorić stressed that the goal is to reduce the number of traffic fatalities, which will be achieved with tachograph control.

"Police officers will receive identification to be used to for tachograph control, and the software is compatible with European norms," Minister Ćorić said.
