THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA MINISTRY OF THE INTERIOR REPRESENTATIVES DISCUSS COUNTERING HUMAN TRAFFICKING WITH OSCE

The representatives of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) praised the work and efforts of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior in the field of countering human trafficking and the Republic of Srpska Government's initiative to establish and operate six monitoring teams to counter human trafficking in the Republic of Srpska, in accordance with constitutional and legal competencies and Article 29 of Convention of the Council of Europe on Action against Trafficking.

The Republic of Srpska Interior Ministry delegation led by Republic of Srpska's Anti-Trafficking Coordinator Dragan Grmuša held talks today in Banja Luka with Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH, Dmitry Iordanidi, Special Representative for Countering Human Trafficking of the OSCE Valiant Richey and Vice President of the Ad Hoc Committee for Migration of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Gudrun Kugler within their program visit to BiH.

OSCE representatives supported the preventive activities of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, which were implemented in accordance with the Republic of Srpska Government's Action Plan for countering human trafficking for the period 2020-2023 such as campaign to raise awareness of human trafficking in Republic of Srpska on the occasion of October 18 (European Day for Countering Human Trafficking) and training on the topic of Countering Human Trafficking in which the knowledge of police officers of the RS Interior Ministry was enhanced.
