On the territory of Mrkonjić Grad, 46 CCTV cameras will control public areas

The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior Dragan Lukač presented today with the heads of the Police Administration and Municipality of Mrkonjic Grad Milan Milekić and Dragan Vođević at the premises of Police Administration Mrkonjić Grad video surveillance system established as part of the project "Safe City".

Minister Lukač stated that 46 cameras in this municipality will control public areas.

"In this way, security will certainly be at a higher level, up to 50% of the number of crimes is decreased in municipalities where video surveillance has already been established. The Ministry of the Interior has so far established or is in the phase of establishing video surveillance in 52 municipalities. This contributes to better security in the municipalities where supervision has been established, but also for the whole of Republic of Srpska, which is the goal," Minister Lukač concluded.

Minister Lukač praised the Mrkonjić Grad Police Administration, which he said was doing a good and committed job. Also, the minister expressed gratitude to the head of the Mrkonjić Grad Municipality Dragan Vođević and his associates who understood the advantage of video surveillance and invested the funds to establish it.

"It remains for us to do the establishment of video surveillance in Šipovo, and I hope that with the head of that municipality, we will soon enter into the signing of the agreement," Minister Lukač said.

Head of Municipality Vođevic said that the municipality has invested about 80,000 BAM in video surveillance, will act on all possible perpetrators of crimes, and thanked everyone who took part in the project.

Mrkonjić Grad Police Administration Head Milan Milekić thanked Minister Lukač for the visit.

"The importance of the cameras is multiple, in a preventive sense it will affect everyone who planned to commit certain crimes," Mrkonjić Grad PA Head Milekić added.

After the release of video surveillance in the Police Administration Mrkonjić Grad Minister Lukač also spoke with the leaders of the Municipality of Mrkonjic Grad.
