Day of the Sixth Detachment of Special Police Brigade marked

With the memorial service and the laying of wreaths on the Memorial Plaque of 13 killed members of the Sixth Detachment of Special Brigade of the Republic of Srpska Police, the 29th anniversary of its formation and the day of its detachment were marked today at the Training Center in Zalužani near Banja Luka.
The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Dragan Lukač, said that the members of the Ministry who gave their lives for the Republic of Srpska must never be forgotten. He reminded that 144 members of the Special Brigade of the Republic of Srpska Police and 782 members of the Ministry of Interior gave their lives for the defense of the Republic of Srpska.
"All people who were in the war know what kind of suffering it was and none of them wants their children to go to war," concluded Minister Lukač.
The president of the Association of Veterans of the Sixth Detachment of the RS Special Police Brigade Zoran Krajinović, said that the members of the detachment went through all the battlefields, in all zones of responsibility.
"Out of 511 members, 200 were seriously or lightly wounded, while 13 lost their lives defending Republic of Srpska," Krajinović said.
He said that members of the Sixth Detachment of Special Police Brigade defended and preserved the Republic of Srpska for future generations.
Minister Lukač, representatives of the Association of Veterans of the Sixth Detachment, the delegation of the Veterans' Organization of Republic Srpska, the city of Banja Luka, the Third Infantry of Republic of Srpska Regiment and the families of the fallen members of this unit laid wreaths at the memorial to the fallen members of the Sixth Detachment of RS Special Police Brigade.
