Minister Lukač and Director Kostrešević attended the "System 2021" exercise

The Republic of Srpska Minister of the interior Dragan Lukač and Police Director Siniša Kostrešević together with the RS Prime Minister Radovan Višković attended the largest exercise of Civil Protection "System 2021" in the Republic of Serbia which was held today at 50 locations across the country and in which members of the RS Ministry of Interior also participated.

Minister Lukač expressed satisfaction that beside units from the Republic of Serbia, specialized units of the RS Ministry of Interior for underwater demining, diving, water rescue, as well as the Helicopter Unit participated in the exercise together with members of the protection and rescue services from the Republic of Serbia, as well as 50 members of the Republic of Srpska Civil Protection Administration with eight boats.

Minister Lukač said that the operational-tactical exercise of protection and rescue "System 2021" showed the synergy of members of the rescue services of Serbia and Srpska. He pointed out that this regional exercise is one of the largest held after the break-up of the former Yugoslavia.

"We have shown today on the Drina river that in case of all natural disasters, we can save lives of our citizens on both sides of the river, and help each other," said Minister Lukač.

The Republic of Serbia Minister of the Interior, Aleksandar Vulin, said from the Operational Headquarters "System 2021" near the Drina river that the exercise was a success.

According to him, in the largest exercise of the Civil Protection since the creation of modern Serbia, the Sector for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of the Interior of Serbia and 8,000 people showed how efficient and capable they are and that Serbia can be peaceful and safe, because there is someone to take care of the country, even in moments of the greatest catastrophes.
