Celebrating of the 30th anniversary of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior in Istočno Novo Sarajevo

As a part of programme of celebrating the Republic of Srpska Police Day and the 30th Anniversary of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, Istočno Novo Sarajevo hosted the Exhibition of police weapons and equipment. The Exhibition was held at Trg Republike Srbije, followed by the concert of the Police Orchestra.
Police Director of the Republic of Srpska, Mr. Siniša Kostrešević, said that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior was trying to follow the development trends of police agencies in the region and worldwide. At the Exhibition, citizens were shown the means, equipment, and weapons of police officers of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit, the Gendarmerie Unit, and the regular police.
The Director Kostrešević said that it was a great honour to have the opportunity to show the equipment that police forces have at their disposal to the citizens of Istočno Sarajevo, as well as to present the progress they made in the last 30 years at the tactical and technical level.
  He said that this was one of many activities undertaken to mark the 30th anniversary of the Police and that such activities would be organised in other cities as well.
Head of Police Administration Istočno Sarajevo, Mr. Branimir Šehovac, emphasised that the security situation in the area covered by this administration was favourable, and added that more efforts would be made in future in order to make it even better.
The Mayor of the municipality of Istočno Novo Sarajevo, Mr. Jovan Katić, said that at today’s exhibition they had the opportunity to see that the Republic of Srpska Police was capable of preserving security of the citizens of Istočno Sarajevo, and the Republic of Srpska as well.
The Mayor of the municipality of Istočna Ilidža, Mr. Marinko Božović, reminded that the members of the Republic of Srpska had the enormous role in the creation and defence of the Republic of Srpska.
