The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Dragan Lukač, and Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, visited members of the Ministry who applied for the voluntary blood donation action at the Institute for Transfusion Medicine Banja Luka.

Minister Lukač said that this year, on the occasion of the Ministry Jubilee, a traditional action of voluntary blood donation was being organized, whose aim was to help all those citizens in need of blood.

Minister Lukač said that they organised the voluntary blood donation action across the Republic of Srpska, in which 860 members were participating, including cadets. In this way, they would help all citizens who are at risk and in need of blood.

The Institute Director, doctor Gordana Guzijan, congratulated the members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior on the Police Day and the Jubilee. She expressed her gratitude to the organisers and all participants in this voluntary blood donation campaign, and wished good luck in performing their regular tasks and activities, good health and long life.

Director Guzijan said that the 30th anniversary was a really important jubilee for all of them, and in the past they had established good cooperation in the field of blood donation. Actions were organised regularly three times a year, but police members were always ready to help them in situations when they did not have enough blood reserves.

Director Guzijan pointed out that this action was specific in terms of the jubilee, but also in terms of the number of participants and the duration. Namely, throughout the week, in all 10 transfusions throughout the Republic of Srpska, members of the Ministry of the Interior would donate blood, thanks to which blood reserves would be significantly improved and increased for the patient treatment in all hospitals.
