Official ceremony of the Republic of Srpska MoI was held last night

On the occasion of April 4, the Police Day and the 30th anniversary of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, an official ceremony was held last night in the Cultural Centre Banski dvor.
In his speech at the ceremony, Minister Lukač said that the Republic of Srpska was and would remain the holder of peace in the Republic of Srpska and would not let anyone to endanger it. He pointed out that he was proud that he contributed to the creation of the Republic of Srpska and the Ministry of the Interior together with his fellow members in the special police brigade.
Lukač pointed out the immeasurable contribution of the MoI members who lost their lives. They were the foundation of the Republic of Srpska and their names, all 782 of them, must not be forgotten. He added that we should be eternally grateful to them, because they gave their lives for the Republic of Srpska and its generations and inscribed their names into the bright side of our history.
He pointed out that the police responded to all challenges, and that by breaking up criminal groups, it was proven that they stand side by side with other police in the world, and by participating in UN peacekeeping missions, that they can contribute to peace in other countries.
The Republic of Srpska, Ms. Željka Cvijanović, said that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior was the holder of the freedom we enjoy today. She added that out of a total of 30 years, this year was the 26th anniversary that we were celebrating in peace and freedom. Therefore, the challenges that the Republic of Srpska and its police were facing in today’s world were luckily different from those from the first half of the 1990s.
The Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia, Mr Aleksandar Vulin, said that the Republic of Srpska was not created by the will of the great powers, but as the need of Serbs to protect themselves on the territory where they currently live since they do not live in one state.
The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Dragan Lukač, awarded the Golden Police Badge to the Uniformed Police Administration and the Head, Mr Dalibor Ivanić, the Crime Police Administration and the Head, Mr. Darko Kovrlija, the Gendarmerie Unit and the Commander, Mr Dragoslav Banović, then Mr Goran Balaban, the Commander of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit, for outstanding performance, personal commitment, and contribution to the Ministry development in the period from November 1992 until today, and Mr Dragan Gaćeša, the first Police Director, who spent his entire working life within the bodies of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior.
Minister Lukač awarded the Golden Police Badge to the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia and the relevant minister, Mr Aleksandar Vulin, for exceptional operational and strategic cooperation between the two ministries, which resulted in numerous joint operational actions in countering modern security risks and threats.
The Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, awarded the Silver Police Badge to the Administration for Legal Affairs and Human Resource and the Head, Mr Srđan Obradović,Administration for Material-Financial and Property Affairs and the Head, Ms Branka Savić, and the Administration for Police Training and the Head, Mr. Mile Šikman.
The Republic of Srpska President, Ms Željka Cvijanović, awarded the Order of the Flag of Srpska with a golden wreath to the Ministry of the Interior for special merits in developing and strengthening peace, cooperation and security, as well as for immeasurable contribution to the existence, development and affirmation of the Republic of Srpska.
Radenko Bašić, Head of the Crime Police Sector of the Prijedor Police Administration, who was killed on March 21 this year, was posthumously awarded the Medal of Merit to the People for excellence in the construction and development of Srpska, as well as for his contribution to the security of its citizens and institutions.
Goran Kablar, a member of the Republic of Srpska MoI, was posthumously awarded the Medal of Merit to the People for excellence acquired in the fight against the enemy, as well as the for contribution to the creation, defense, and liberation of Srpska.
The Prime Minister, Mr Radovan Višković, ministers of the Republic of Srpska Government, and other guests attended the ceremony in addition to the Minister of the Interior, Mr Dragan Lukač, the Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, the President of the Republic of Srpska, Ms Željka Cvijanović, the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia, Mr Aleksandar Vulin.
