The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior Dragan Lukač opened today in the Museum of the Republic of Srpska in Banja Luka the exhibition Grand Vožd Karađorđe – Father of Modern Serbia, which was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence of Serbia and the Military Museum.
”This is the first time we have something similar in the Republic of Srpska, and this is only the second time that the exhibition is presented outside Serbia. Due to the pandemic, we had to postpone the exhibition twice, but it obviously waited for the right moment, when we are celebrating three decades of our establishment and work”, said Minister Lukač.
He thanked the Ministry of Defence of Serbia and the Military Museum, along with the exhibition authors, for the opportunity the citizens of Banja Luka have to see the historic exhibits that refer to the fights of Serb people through centuries.
”We share the same cultural heritage, memories and emotions with Serbs across the Drina river, and Karađorđe is certainly a synonym for freedom to each Serb”, Lukač added.
Assistant to the Serbian Minister of Defence Katarina Tomašević also addressed the present and thanked them for the opportunity to attend the events organized on occasion of celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior. ”We will always be here to support our friends, our colleagues from the Ministry of the Interior and the Republic of Srpska. I would like to use this opportunity and congratulate the citizens of the Republic of Srpska this important jubilee”, said Tomašević.
The Director of the Museum of the Republic of Srpska expressed his honour that such an exhibition is held in our Museum.
The Exhibition is open to the general public until April 15, 2022.
