Conference on countering cybercrime

The Republic of Srpska Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with the European Union and the Council of Europe in the framework of the project „iPROCEEDS-2“,organized today in Banja Luka a conference entitled Strengthening cooperation between police, prosecutor`s office, courts, and the private sector in criminal acts investigations of crimes against children committed in a virtual environment.
The conference gathered police officers working on cybercrime cases against children, representatives of competent authorities and non-governmental organizations for countering cybercrime from the Republic of Srpska and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the aim of improving cooperation between the public and private sector, continuous communication and prevention, as well as exchange of the best practice.
Joining public/private forces in general, establishing trust, and clear and continuous communication are some key prerequisites for combating the increasing cyber-abuse of children phenomenon.
The „iPROCEEDS 2“ project is a joint project of EU and the Council of Europe and represents continuation of the „iPROCEEDS 1“, focusing on Southeastern Europe countries and Turkey, and it refers to cybercrime annd collecting electronic evidence.
