THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA HEADQUARTERS ‘’ ELECTIONS 2022’’ – SECURITY SITUATION IN THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA IS SATISFACTORY

The Headquarters of the security action "ELECTIONS 2022" assesses and constantly monitors the security situation in the territory of the Republic of Srpska and the region, and accordingly, it plans activities, contacts, and cooperation with other entities that are important for the implementation of the General Elections scheduled for October 2, 2022.
Today, the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, who is the chairperson of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior Headquarters "ELECTIONS 2022", held a meeting with members of the Headquarters and heads of all ten police administrations in the Republic of Srpska, and ordered the implementation of all necessary measures and activities within the scope of the competence of the Ministry of the Interior with the aim of undisturbed and safe development of all activities related to the upcoming General Elections.
At the meeting, it was noted that the security situation in the Republic of Srpska was satisfactory, and that a total of 25 incidents had been recorded in the territory of the Republic of Srpska during the pre-election period so far, and 17 of them were related to destroying pre-election posters.
In addition, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior will engage its maximum capacities, so that all 1,415 voting locations in the territory of the Republic of Srpska will be secured in accordance with the current legal and by-law regulations.
As a reminder, on the occasion of holding the "General Election 2022", the locations for issuing personal documents of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior (documents for personal identity cards, permanent and temporary place of residence, unique designated number, and acquisitions of new documents) are going to be opened on Saturday and Sunday, on October 1 and October 2, 2022, from 07:00 till 19:00.
With the aim of undertaking security measures and actions regarding the safe holding of the "General Elections 2022", the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior issued the order prohibiting the transport of explosive materials and the ban on traffic for freight motor vehicles over 3.5 tons of total mass in road traffic, in the territory of the Republic of Srpska, from 00:00 on October 02, 2022, till 06:00 on October 3, 2022.
Ministry at headquarters, public security centres, public security stations, and police stations are not going to issue permits for the transport of explosive materials for the above-mentioned period.
