As of today, the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, presides the Southeast Europe Police Chiefs Association – SEPCA, after the Republic of Srpska Police took over the one-year presidency from the Romanian Police at the SEPCA General Assembly that was held today in Bucharest.

Director Kostrešević said that this represented a great honour for the Srpska Police and the Republic of Srpska, but also great responsibility. He announced formation of joint police and investigation teams with the aim of strengthening regional and international operational cooperation in combating organized crime, with particular emphasis on identification and prevention of drug trafficking, weapon trafficking, human trafficking and prevention of high-tech crime, as well as operational cooperation in financial investigations and money laundering.

Representatives of police agencies from the Southeast European countries adopted a strategic document – SEPCA Serious and Organised Crime Threat Assessment, developed in accordance with the SOCTA methodology. This strategic report was developed by crime analysts from the police agencies from the Southeast European countries, who provided information and analysis that contributed to the quality of this document.

During its Presidency, the Republic of Srpska Police intends to develop the strategy and action plan for the implementation of this strategic document, together with the relevant international partners – Italy, Austria, IPA 2019, Europol, Interpol and SELEC, with whom they have already established good international operational cooperation.
