MINISTER KARAN AND DIRECTOR KOSTREŠEVIĆ IN ISTOČNO SARAJEVO

Today, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, and Police Director, Mr Siniša Karan, visited the Police Administration Istočno Sarajevo, where they met with the Head of Police Administration, Mr Branimir Šehovac, and his associates.

Minister Karan said that at today's meeting he was informed about the security situation on the territory of Istočno Sarajevo, which was assessed as satisfactory one. In addition, he said that the citizens could stay calm.

Minister Karan said that the police officers were undertaking necessary measures and activities to ensure the celebration of 9 January – The Republic of Srpska Day in Istočno Sarajevo was safe and peaceful.

He invited all citizens to attend the ceremonial parade on the occasion of marking the Republic of Srpska Day.

Minister Karan pointed out that the Republic of Srpska day was constitutional and legal, and expressed his belief that the ordinary citizens of BiH were not opposed to celebrating the Republic of Srpska Day.

The Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, said that the Republic of Srpska Police were undertaking planned measures and actions so that marking of the Republic of Srpska and the ceremonial parade would be peaceful and safe. He said that around 800 police officers were engaged in securing the ceremonial parade, and in this regard, the cooperation with other police agencies in BiH was accomplished.
