DIRECTOR KOSTREŠEVIĆ MEETS POLICE ATTACHES AND THE REPRESENTATIVE OF EUD/EUSR TO BiH

Today, the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, held a meeting with police attachés of sixteen countries and the representative of the EU Delegation to BiH and EU Special Representative to BiH, where they discussed the improvement and strengthening of police cooperation and information exchange in order to prevent and counter crime both at the Republic of Srpska level and international level.
Director Kostrešević informed the police attachés about the current security state in the territory of the Republic of Srpska, which was assessed as satisfactory, but also about the challenges that police officers encounter during their operational service. Some topics discussed were activities related to migrant crisis and the movement of immigrants.
The Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior was praised for its commitment to the fight against organised crime and meeting European standards in the field of internal affairs.
As a part of their official visit, police attachés and representatives of EUSR and EUFOR also visited the Administration for Police Training and Training Centre, where they were informed about the organisation and education system at the Police Academy, as well as about the professional trainings of members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior. The delegation of police attachés consisted of sixteen police attachés from the following countries: Austria, New Zealand/Australia, Slovenia, France, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, Spain, Hungary, Croatia, Belgium, Great Britain, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden.
