REGIONAL WORKSHOP ON COOPERATION BETWEEN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR IN COUNTERING CYBERCRIME AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SECOND ADDITIONAL PROTOCOL TO BUDAPEST CONVENTION

As a part of the ‘Cyber week’, organized by the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior from 28 to 31 March, the Regional workshop on cooperation between public and private sector in countering cybercrime and implementation of the Second additional protocol to Budapest Convention was held.
The aim of the workshop is to emphasize the significance of cooperation of public and private sector in countering cybercrime, as well as the significance of the Second additional protocol to Budapest Convention. The countries that sign, ratify and implement this Protocol will be provided with additional tools for international cooperation and information and evidence exchange in cases of cybercrime.
Simultaneously, today, a meeting was held on raising awareness on the existing mechanisms for reporting cybercrime. The meeting was attended by the representatives of institutions for law enforcement in BIH, as well as the representatives of private companies, especially financial institution, service providers in the field of telecommunication, companies for cyber safety, exchange offices for cryptocurrencies and audit companies dealing with information technologies. The aim of the meeting is strengthening cooperation between the relevant subjects, better mutual understanding, improvement of reporting mechanisms, information exchange and cooperation.
The Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior organized the ‘Cyber week’ with the project of EU and the Council of Europe iPROCEEDS-2, SEPCA (Southeast Europe Police Chiefs Association), and the Federal Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Austria. It represents one of the most significant events in the region, which gathers the experts in the field of countering cybercrime and cybersecurity, as well as the contribution of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior and Police Director as the chairman of SEPCA.
