STAFF MEETING OF THE MINISTER OF THE INTERIOR HELD AT THE GRADIŠKA POLICE ADMINISTRATION

The main conclusion of the staff meeting hosted by the Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, was that the security situation on the territory of the Republic of Srpska was efficient, and in terms of police work, a number of activities were undertaken to make it so, although in the past, there were several public assemblies that were a security challenge both for citizens and the Ministry.
The staff meeting was held at the Police Administration Gradiška and was attended by the Director of the Republic of Srpska Police, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, heads of the operational administrations within the Ministry headquarters, and the Head of the Gradiška Police Administration, Mr Slobodan Torbica. It was concluded that the situation in the field of traffic safety was considerably worsened in April this year since twenty-nine people died in traffic accidents so far on the roads of the Republic of Srpska, which is nine more than in the same period last year.
The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Siniša Karan, ordered increased police activities for the purpose of improving the traffic safety situation on the roads, along with the request that other competent authorities and institutions are also included in these activities, such as: inspection, municipal police, Public Company "The Republic of Srpska Roads", Auto-Moto Association of the Republic of Srpska, the local community and others.
At the staff meeting, they reiterated the determination of the Ministry to fight against organised crime and corruption, and in this respect, special attention was placed on the investigation conducted by the competent administrations regarding the so-called Sky application.
At the same time, participants of the staff meeting analysed activities related to the fight against terrorism and extremism, the migrant crisis, as well as cooperation and exchange of operational information with the law enforcement agencies from the region and abroad.
