MINISTER KARAN AWARDED 25 NEW OFFICIAL VEHICLES

Today, in Banja Luka, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, awarded 25 new official vehicles for the activities of police officers.

Minister Karan said that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior and the Republic of Srpska Government provided these official vehicles so the police officers would be more efficient in performing their tasks and activities in accordance with the law.

He added that the Ministry had been in the process of equipping over the previous few years, which was, in addition to the training and rejuvenation of the staff, one of the strategic directions of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior. Minister also said that the Republic of Srpska Government had lately spent about BAM 150 million for equipping the Ministry, and this was mostly reflected in building new facilities on the territory of all police administrations, new uniforms, radar systems, equipping the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit and Gendarmerie Unit.

Regarding the rejuvenation of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, Minister Karan pointed out that there were about 500 new cadets who finished their internship. He also said that the competition for the enrollment of cadets to the Police Academy was in progress, as well as the promotion of the Secondary school of Internal Affairs, which was supposed to have its first class at the beginning of the new school year.

The awarding of the new official vehicles was also attended by the Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević.
