AGREEMENT SIGNED WITH THE MINISTRY OF ADMINISTRATION AND LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENT TO IMPROVE SERVICE FOR CITIZENS

The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, and the Minister of Administration and Local Self-Government, Ms Senka Jujić, signed today the Agreement on electronic data exchange and the Technical Protocol on electronic data exchange in the procedure of issuing personal documents in the competence of the Ministry of the Interior.
The Agreement is a new step towards the improvement of services for citizens as well as an improvement that will accelerate the procedure of issuing personal documents – identity cards and passports for the citizens of the Republic of Srpska registered in the registry books in the Republic of Srpska.
The current procedure of checking information for the person who submits a request for issuing personal documents between registry services and organizational units of the Ministry of the Interior is performed with the participation of registrars who, in that moment, manually enter data in the application through which the responses to the requests of the Ministry of the Interior are obtained.
The improvement to this procedure is reflected in the fact that the manual information check will be replaced with the automatic one, and this means that the competent unit of the Ministry of the interior, after receiving the request for issuing a personal document may immediately, electronically, request the information check on that person and obtain the response automatically, within only a few seconds.
The exchange and conceding the access to information between the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Administration and Local Self-Government is implemented electronically, using the web-service established between the Information system of the Ministry of the Interior and the Information system of the Ministry of Administration and Local Self-Government. Thus, the period of waiting for issuing identity cards and passports shall be notably shortened for the citizens of the Republic of Srpska.
By signing this Agreement, the long-term cooperation between the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Administration and Local Self-Government is continued in the field of electronic data exchange which is simultaneously a contribution to establishing and developing electronic services and simplifying the efficiency of services that we provide to the citizens.
The Ministers expressed the determination of the two Ministries to apply contemporary information-communication technologies to continuously work on the digitalization of business processes in future.
