DIRECTOR KOSTREŠEVIĆ AT THE OPENING OF THE UN GLOBE REGIONAL COMPONENT IN VIENNA

Today, in Vienna, the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, is attending the international conference dedicated to the opening UN GlobE regional component, which is attended by representatives of law enforcement agencies, anti-corruption authorities, police and prosecutor’s offices and financial intelligence units from the Western Balkans (BiH, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia).
Director Kostrešević said that establishing the regional component of the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities for the Western Balkans would strengthen regional and international cooperation and facilitate direct cooperation between law enforcement authorities in the detection and clarification of criminal offences containing elements of corruption, the implementation of joint investigations and suppression of transnational corruption. The regional component would certainly contribute to the exchange of knowledge, experiences and best practices in the fight against corruption.
The Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior is a member of the UN Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities (GlobE Network), which provides a platform for mutual information exchange and informal cooperation in order to better identify, investigate and prosecute cross-border criminal offences of corruption and confiscation of proceeds of crime. The GlobE network aims to provide a fast and efficient tool to facilitate transnational cooperation in the fight against corruption, as well as to strengthen the exchange of communication between independent law enforcement authorities, as well as to complement and coordinate with relevant platforms for international cooperation.
