Police officers of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior are undertaking measures and activities defined by law and the Constitution in order to maintain favourable security situation on the territory of the Republic of Srpska, thus keeping the citizens and their property safe, regardless of their ethnicity – this is the conclusion of the staff meeting held by Minister Karan at Zvornik Police Administration, which was today also attended by the Republic of Srpska Prime Minister, Mr Radovan Višković.
At the meeting, also attended by the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, heads of operational administrations of the Ministry, head of Zvornik Police Administration, Mr Aleksandar Vasiljević, informed the participants on the security situation on the territory of Zvornik PA, with special emphasis on the three events that occurred on the territory of this administration and were especially exploited in the media in the previous days.
It was concluded that, when it comes to these events, it cannot be accepted that the motive was an attack on the population of returnees, but those were incidents between citizens regardless of their ethnicity. The most important was the fact that, as it was stated, in all these cases, the perpetrators were identified and police officers undertook measures and activities against them regulated by law, although there were police officers among the perpetrator.
On this occasion, the Republic of Srpska Prime Minister, Mr Radovan Višković, thanked the Bosniak citizens in the Republic of Srpska who did not succumb to the manipulations promoted by certain Bosniak individuals who tried to abuse these events for political purposes thus threatening the security in the Republic of Srpska.
He expressed the commitment of the Republic of Srpska institutions, including the Ministry of the Interior, to efficiently perform their activities and tasks regulated by law, and pointed out his full support to the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior for all the activities they had implemented so far.
Other conclusions of the staff meeting are that the more intense police work was visible from the aspect of intensifying the activities of police officers related to crime prevention.
