MINISTER KARAN: NO CRIMINAL OR CRIMINAL GROUP ARE STRONGER THAN THE POLICE

He expressed his condolences to the family of Nenad Marković, the murdered police officer, who was murdered in the night between 1 and 2 October in Bijeljina.
Minister Karan praised the work of Bijeljina PA and cooperation between the police and the prosecutor’s office for quick and efficient investigation of aggravated murder of the police officer, and called it liquidation.
He added that the police identified the murderer practically within two hours as well as the three accessories, and explained that the evidence pointed to the fact that the accessories were actually co-perpetrators.
‘Unfortunately, we have lost Nenad Marković, and he is an example how the police protect the Constitution and security of citizens with their own lives’, Minister Karan said after the meeting with the management of Bijeljina Police Administration, which was also attended by the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević.
Minister Karan stated that, since 1996 to the day, the total number of 31 police officers of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior had lost their lives while on duty.
