MINISTER KARAN AND DIRECTOR KOSTREŠEVIĆ VISITED HERZEGOVINA

The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, and the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, visited today the police stations in Gacko, Bileća, Berkovići and Nevesinje, where they discussed the security situation on the territory of Herzegovina with the management of Trebinje Police Administration and commanders of those police stations.
The security situation was assessed as satisfactory and it was concluded that the numbers of criminal offences and situations of disturbing public order and peace have reduced.
Other topics that were discussed were work organisation within police stations, issues encountered by the police officers in their daily work, as well as personnel occupancy of the police stations.
Furthermore, the need to establish the video-surveillance system through the project ‘Safe city’ on the territory of municipalities of Herzegovina was empasised, having in mind that these systems have given a significant contribution in the field of security and helped the police officers in solving the cases criminal and minor offences in local communities where such systems exist.
