DIRECTOR KOSTREŠEVIĆ AT THE INAUGURATION OF THE OFFICE OF THE ITALIAN MINISTRY OF THE INTERIOR

The Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, welcomed today's inauguration of the Office of the Italian Ministry of the Interior in Sarajevo, which represented ”the commitment to strengthening international cooperation and coordination in countering crime and intensification of police efforts and better coordination in countering these illegal activities, and deeper cooperation with the colleagues from the Italian police”.
The Ambassador of Italy to BiH, H.E. Marco di Ruzza, and the Deputy Director of Public Security – Central Director of Criminal Police, Prefect Raffaele Grassi also attended the event, along with the representatives of other law enforcement agencies in BiH.
In addition to the inauguration of the IMoI Office, they also opened the Headquarters of the Project EU Support to Strengthen the Fight against Migrant Smuggling and Trafficking in Human Beings in the Western Balkans (EU4FAST) aimed at countering migrant smuggling and human trafficking.
”It is my particular pleasure to announce the continuation of successful cooperation through this project aimed at countering migrant smuggling and human trafficking, since this form of crime represents a serious threat to our societies and requires decisive and coordinated police actions”, Director Kostrešević said in his address.
He thanked the European Commission for having recognized the importance of this issue and supporting the project implementation.
