ROUNDTABLE ON THE TOPIC ”ADDRESSING MIXED MIGRATION FLOWS IN THE WESTERN BALKANS”

The Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, together with his associates, attended today the Roundtable titled ”Addressing Mixed Migration Flows in the Western Balkans”. It was held on the premises of the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska in Banja Luka.
The Roundtable was organized by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), with the financial support of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
As the Chairperson of the Coordination body for monitoring the movement of illegal migrants across the Republic of Srpska territory, Director Kostrešević used the opportunity to compliment the activities undertaken in the framework of the project ”Improving migrant assistance and supporting local communities in the Republic of Srpska”, implemented by IOM in cooperation with the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior. He also presented the measures and actions taken by the RS MoI on its own and in cooperation with the BiH Border Police.
The Ambassador of Norway, H.E. Olav Reinertsen, and the Sub-Regional Coordinator for the Western Balkans and Chief of Mission of IOM Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms Laura Lungarotti, expressed their satisfaction with the joint activities that had undertaken and thanked all the participants for their cooperation.
The representatives of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Service for Foreigners’ Affairs in Banja Luka, Red Cross of the Republic of Srpska and the Border Police Unit in Gradiška also attended the Roundtable.
