Today, at Serbia Palace, as a part of the All-Serbian assembly of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska, a meeting of the delegations of the ministries of the interior of the Republic of Srpska and the Republic of Serbia was held, which was also attended by the heads of all operational administrations of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior.

The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, said that the Republic of Serbia Ministry of the Interior was the most important partner in countering organised crime and that it would remain so in future as well.

‘Just when we thought our cooperation could not be any better, today, it turned out it could get even more efficient and successful. This All-Police assembly will become one body and it is our proposal for future for it to become an event where, once or twice a year, all structures of both ministries would meet’, Minister Karan pointed out.

The Deputy prime minister of the Republic of Serbia Government and the Minister of the Interior, Mr Ivica Dačić, said that the All-Serbian assembly represented development of good relations, as well as a condition and significant stability factor in the whole region.

‘Our two ministries perform very important activities. Maintaining stable public order and peace, providing security for citizens and their property, and fighting crime, irregular migrations, countering terrorism and extremism, civil protection – and in our country, we call it reacting in emergency situations – we would like to cooperate in all these lines’, Minister Dačić said.

Minister Dačić also pointed out that all aspects for further improvement of cooperation of the two ministries would be observed. ‘Each of our administrations and lines of work got a task to meet and agree on the points where we could cooperate, whether it is a form of countering crime or other fields. It is very important, and we are already implementing it, but we wish to further improve it’.

Minister Dačić said that, during the fire season, one or two helicopters of the Republic of Serbia Ministry of the Interior with firefighters-rescuers would be stationed in the Republic of Srpska with the aim of reacting faster in case of a fire. Also, Minister Dačić pointed out that this type of cooperation should be a tradition so the members of the two ministries could meet and cooperate even better.
