SUCCESSFUL IMPLEMENTATION OF THE EXERCISE "TERRORIST ATTACK AGAINST A PROTECTED PERSON"

Members of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior successfully carried out a tactical and demonstration exercise "Terrorist attack against a protected person" on the Drina River, near Andrićgrad in Višegrad, which was attended by the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, and the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević.
The demonstration exercise was organized by the Training Centre, and police officers of the Administration for Protecting Persons and Buildings, members of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit with the Helicopter Unit and Diving Team, members of the Foča Police Administration (Foča Gendarmerie Unit, Foča and Višegrad police stations) participated in its implementation, along with representatives of the local community of Višegrad, tourist boat of "Andrićgrad", emergency services, fire brigade and civil protection department of Višegrad.
The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, stated that the exercise in Višegrad was successfully implemented, and said that the citizens could be assured that the RS MoI and the Srpska Police had the ability, desire and knowledge to guarantee the security of the Republic, the lives of citizens, overall security and property, and to protect the constitutional order.
According to the statement of the Minister, since the establishment of the Training Centre in Zalužani, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior has made efforts to create the conditions to train its personnel in this way, as a part of the advanced training of police officers.
"We will continue with trainings, they are one of our strategic priorities. Our police officers are trained and equipped to operate in the air and water and on land. This year, the Training Centre has organized 21 specialized trainings," said Minister Karan.
The Mayor of Višegrad, Mr Mladen Đurević, director Emir Kusturica and numerous persons from political and social life also attended the exercise.
