HIGHEST ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS OF SLOVENIAN POLICE FOR THE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA POLICE

Today, on the occasion of celebrating 27 June, the Republic of Slovenia Police Day, acknowledgements were awarded to the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, and head of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior Administration for Countering Organised and Serious Crime, Mr Mladen Marić.
At the main ceremony, held at Brdo Congress Centre, in Kranj, the hosts were General Police Director of Slovenia, Mr Senad Jušić, and the Republic of Slovenia Minister of the Interior, Mr Boštjan Poklukar. They awarded the Golden Police Badge for cooperation to the Republic of Srpska Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, whereas the head of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior Administration for Countering Organised and Serious Crime, Mr Mladen Marić, was awarded with the Silver Police Badge.
These recognitions were awarded for excellent cooperation of the Republic of Srpska Police with the Slovenian Police in the field of countering organised crime.
‘This recognition is a result of long-standing excellent cooperation of our two police agencies, both in the realisation of joint investigations and in the exchange of operational information referring to the fight against organised crime, especially breaking organised criminal groups involved in illegal trafficking in narcotic drugs’, Director Kostrešević pointed out.
He added that the police officers of these two police agencies had previously also participated in joint trainings for different aspects of police work, one of the most recent being training for negotiating teams for reacting in crisis situations.
‘The recognition we received today is another proof that we, the Republic of Srpska Police, are going in the right direction. It confirms that our colleagues, whose state is an EU member, see us as equal partners in the fight against crime. Therefore, primarily, I would like to thank the management of the Ministry of the Interior and the Police of the Republic of Slovenia for their open cooperation. Also, I would like to thank all police officers of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior whose dedicated and professional work brought me and Mr Marić here today, to be honoured by these recognitions’, Director Kostrešević said.
