The Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior has elevated the security measures on the territory of the Republic of Srpska, particularly in public places, following the terrorist attack at the Embassy of Israel that took place today in Belgrade, when one member of the Gendarmerie of the Serbian Ministry of the Interior was seriously injured.
The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, and the RS Police Director, Mr Siniša Kostrešević, are in constant communication with the Serbian Minister of the Interior and the Vice-President of the Serbian Government, Mr Ivica Dačić, and the top management of the Serbian Police. Although there is no serious threat of a similar attack in the Republic of Srpska, the Ministry ordered a series of preventive measures and has intensified cooperation with other police agencies in terms of exchange of intelligence.
The security situation of the territory of the Republic of Srpska is favourable and the citizens have no reason for concern, but we invite them to report to the police any suspicious activities they might notice.
