AT TODAY’S MEETING WITH PRESIDENT DODIK AND PRIME MINISTER VIŠKOVIĆ, THE SECURITY SITUATION IN SRPSKA ASSESSED AS STABLE

Today, at the Training Centre in Zalužani, the Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior, Mr Siniša Karan, held a meeting with heads of all operational administrations. The meeting was also attended by the Republic of Srpska President, Mr Milorad Dodik, and Prime Minister, Mr Radovan Višković.
The main conclusion of the meeting is that the security situation in the Republic of Srpska is stable, which is the result of good cooperation of the Republic of Srpska Management, the Government and other institutions.
After the meeting, the members of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit and Gendarmerie of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior presented their equipment, armament, technical and terrain vehicles and helicopter, and then they demonstrated the tactical exercise ‘Response to a terrorist attack on a protected facility’.
The Republic of Srpska Minister of the Interior said that he could confirm that the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior was well equipped, trained and may guarantee the protection of the Constitutional order of the Republic of Srpska and security for all its citizens, both nowadays and in future.
‘We would never have such a modern and perspective Ministry, if the Republic of Srpska political management had not provided strong support the Police of Srpska’, Minister Karan said.
‘The Ministry of the Interior and the Police are everything that remained after the dismantling of the Republic of Srpska Army, not only as a structure that maintains public order and peace, but it also ensures our security every night and every night’, the President of Srpska said.
He pointed out that the Republic of Srpska Police was the most organised police structure in BIH.
‘Everything else suffers the weaknesses of BIH. These people here are highly motivated to protect the security of every citizen in the Republic of Srpska regardless of their ethnicity’, President Dodik said. He added that he was proud of the fact that there were also representatives of other ethnicities among the Republic of Srpska Police.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska, Mr Radovan Višković, said that the Government would continue to invest in the equipment and staff of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior, so the citizens of Srpska could be provided with peaceful and safe life. Mr Višković also pointed out the significance of the work of the High School of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Srpska Ministry of the Interior and the Police Academy, and announced that the enrollment quotas would be extended, in order to continue the process of staff rejuvenation of the Ministry.
He expressed his pleasure with the results presented to him at the meeting, according to which the Republic of Srpska Police was continuously improving its results in the field.
Prime Minister Višković reminded that a large assembly was expected in the following days in Potočari, and invited the citizens of the Republic of Srpska to give their support and make sure that the assembly of Bosniaks on that location passes without incidents.
